This was a fun one! The new owner of Snug Harbor Wine wanted a logo that was NOT the usual wine bottle, bunch of grapes, etc. The shop is in a historic district, a few hundred feet from beautiful Duxbury Harbor. So, we thought of something marine, something historic, but how to bring wine into it? I got some great photos of the transoms of beautiful antique sailboats, and started tracing one of the best ones. My husband Doug walked in, asked what I was doing. I told him. He said, “Wow, that’s beautiful, that is called a wineglass transom.” !!!!!! How appropriate was that? So that’s how this logo came to be. The owner loved it, got a sign-maker to carve a wooden sign for above the door. Of course it’s also used on business cards, invoices, wine tags, signs, website, rack cards, and more.
